In the period from 06.02.2014 to 05.03.2014 Ukraine has entered a zone of increasing political turbulence. Civilian casualties, change of government, military threat hasn’t positively affected the economics of the country and, of course has affected the deposit market. However, rates on deposits have slightly grown. Over the last month SDR-50 has grown by only 0,46 p.p. and has been still lower than its historical maximum, which was achieved in March of 2013.

Over the last month twenty five banks have changed the interest rates on deposits of individuals, 152 rates have been corrected, almost all of them have been corrected upward. Deposit programs in UAH have been reviewed in 21 banks, at the same time, 20 banks have increased the cost of raising resources.
