Ukrainians have believed in stability of national currency and, by calculating the return from deposits, they increasingly tend to keep their savings in UAH. According to NBU data overall balance of bank deposits has increased by UAH 23,6 bn or by 4,1% – up to UAH 591,4 bn since the beginning of the year. The growth rates of indicator is in 2,5 times higher than in the same period of last year. At the same time, the key source of deposit base are the contributions of individuals, which have increased by 5,7% during the period since the beginning of 2013, and in national currency – by 11,5% since the beginning of 2013. Having felt the inflow of hryvnia, this week banks have been decreasing deposit interest rates in national currency and have been correcting interest rates in US dollars and euro.
