Methodology

The documents regulating the rating procedure of the Agency and the methodology for the determination of the national scale credit ratings are published in this section of the Web-site.

The rating agency "Standard-Rating" carries out the information policy aimed at the disclosure of methodological approaches to the rating assessment, performing both Ukrainian legal requirements and recommendations of IOSCO.

All stages of the rating process, such as those defined by the Ukrainian legislation, and those, which are adhered to by the Rating agency “Standard-Rating”, are determined by the Agency’s rating procedure.

 

Rating procedure (ukr)

 

The rating agency "Standard Rating" divides the Ukrainian economy by sectors to the following participants:

  • banks;
  • insurance companies, which specialize in general types of insurance;
  • insurance companies, which specialize in life insurance;
  • other companies of the financial sector, which are not classified as banks and insurers;
  • enterprises of the non-financial sector;
  • public finance sector (municipal councils).

 

Banking sector:

The methodology to determine (update, suspend, withdraw) the ratings of banks (ukr)

 

Insurance sector:

The methodology to determine (update, suspend, withdraw) the ratings of life insurance companies (ukr)

The methodology to determine (update, suspend, withdraw) the ratings of insurers on general types of insurance  (ukr)

 

Non-financial sector of economics:

The methodology to determine (update, suspend, withdraw) the ratings of non-financial sector entreprises  (ukr)

 

The Agency also practices a regular publication of ratings, drawn up on the basis of public information (pi-ratings) in mass media. Such ratings are not assigned on the basis of the national scale (Cabinet Resolution №665 from 26.04.2007), they are not used in regulation and do not usually belong to the class of credit ratings. Publications of (pi)-ratings in mass media are accompanied by the methodology publication. Data on such ratings can be found in the section of the website "Ratings for media".
