The beginning of summer was marked by the increased activity of banks. Over the past week from May 29 to June 5 the deposit rates in UAH for individuals decreased significantly. As a result, rates SDR-50 in the national currency lost 0,11-0,24 p.p. SDR-50 rates in USD on the contrary – increased by 0,01-0,08 p.p., and in EUR fluctuated from a decrease by 0,01 p.p. to an increase by 0,03 p.p. All this is due to several reasons: rather high liquidity of banks – the balance on correspondent accounts is firmly kept at around UAH 26-27 billion and the growing interest of the population to rates in national currency.
